Thor Armring With Runes
-
Description
My armring of Thor has original runes taken from Viking Age inscriptions. They are the genuine article. I have used inscriptions from runestones: sithi Thor. Thor vigi thesi runaR, translating ‘Thor protect, Thor bless these runes‘.
Runes served as lettering for the vikings, but also contained a sense of mystical power. An ancient norse poem tells how the god Odin hung himself on the World Tree for nine nights in a shamanistic ritual, in order to learn the secrets of the runes. So when these inscriptions were carved into the stone, they were also intended to bring magical protection and power.
Available in sterling silver only.

KKlausI am fascinated by the idea that the creativity of people who lived about a thousand years ago still resonates today. This creates a bridge through time. Alban understands like no other how to translate the essence of Viking art into magnificent pieces of jewelry for today. This arm ring is an excellent example of this.
Thank you so much Klaus.
SSamAfter seeing so much second rate work made from cheap materials in the general market for arm rings and other Norse/runic products, getting my hands on this beautiful arm ring fills my heart with joy.
From the product photos online, I thought the workmanship looked far better than I had seen from other makers. Seeing it, holding it and now owning it is even better than that.
Alban and Rachel - thank you so very much.Your are welcome Sam!
